A R Rahman will be performing at the Marina Bay Sands Grand Theater in Singapore from 17 to 21 March where audiences from around the globe will be enthralled by the captivating performance from the gifted singer-composer.
“A four-night performance has been planned for the Singapore leg of this global tour. Rahman has teamed up with creative director Amy Tinkham, best known for stage collaborations with Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys and Mariah Carey,” a press release said.
According to Marina Bay Sands president and chief executive officer Thomas Arasi, “Rahman has proved to the world that the Indian entertainment industry has come of age when he took home Academy and Grammy awards. We are proud to deliver what we promised the world.”
Base Entertainment Asia vice-president and managing director Milan Rokic said, “We are thrilled to present A R Rahman to audiences in an intimate setting within Marina Bay Sands Grand Theater. Audiences will get up close and personal for the first time with him as opposed to experiencing his show in an arena style format in which he normally plays.”
“This show will be a theatrical experience that will be a feast for the eyes and ears with a full cast of dancers, singers, performers and musicians,” Rokic added.
The A R Rahman Jai Ho Concert: The Journey Home World Tour kicked off on June 11 2010 in New York and has since toured cities around the globe including Washington, Texas, Toronto, Johannesburg, Cape Town, London, Zurich and Paris.
