Prithvi to remake Padmarajan's 'Season'

• Cochin, Oct.31 (NR): It seems to be raining remakes in Malayalam.
  
  The latest buzz in the industry is that Prithviraj would play the lead role in the remake of Padmarajan's 'Season'.
  
  Th original 'Season' had Mohanlal doing the main role. He played a character by the name of Jeevan who goes on a revenge spree. The film was set on the Kovalam beach.
  
  The technical crew behind the film hasn't yet been decided. The shoot in all probability would be held at Kovalam beach itself.
  
  'Season' was a disaster at the box office. However, let us hope that the remake doesn't meet with the same fate.

Mammootty, not Mohanlal to play the lead in 'Karuna'

Cochin, Oct.31 (NR): It was recently reported that Mohanlal would play the role of Upagupthan in 'Karuna' to be directed by Harikumar. 

It was also rumoured that M T Vasudevan Nair would script the film.

However, not it seems that the reports have turned out to be false. A film based on the story of Upagupthan and Vasavadatta is indeed being planned, and it would have Mammootty, instead of Mohanlal playing the lead role.

The film would be scripted and directed by K M Madhusoodanan who had directed the much critically acclaimed film 'Bioscope'. The film has been titled 'Karuna: The Return of Buddha'.

The locations of the film that would be jointly produced by Playhouse and NFDC would be Ocha in Madhya Pradesh and Madhura. M J Radhakrishnan would wield the camera.

Mammootty would play the role of a film director. The film being planned at a budget of two crores would reach the theatres by next March.

Mammootty gets ready to be a Volley Ball coach!

• Cochin, Nov.1 (NR): Mammootty is getting ready to be a Volley Ball coach. No, he is not taking to the sports arena with a vengeance. Rather, the actor would be playing the role of a Volley Ball coach in a new film.
  
  This film that has not yet been titled would be directed by V K Prakash who had last directed 'Gulumaal'.
  
  Y V Rajesh who had also scripted 'Gulumaal' would be scripting this new film as well.
  
  Vachan Shetty and Sajitha Prakash would jointly produce the film under the banner of Indostrom Entertainment Group and Trend Ad Films.

Bhavana talks about her marriage

South Indian actress Bhavana has said that she will consider entering wedlock only after achieving something in her film career. She regrets that those actresses who forayed into the film industry along with her have at least a couple of films that shows their performances and talent while she has no such films to her credit.

Bhavana says that when people ask about her marriage, she has only one thought running in her mind – to play a memorable role and then settle for marital bliss.

South Indian movie star Mohan Lal passes UAE driving test

Dubai: Malayalee matinee idol Mohanlal on Wednesday got his UAE driving license, proving that his skills behind the wheel are as good as his acting prowess. 

He cleared the driving test on his first try.

“Mohanlal holds an Indian license since 1983 so he just had to take the regular 20 classes to appear for his first license test. It took him one attempt,” said El Fateh Abdul Baqi Eljack, General Manager of Dubai Driving Center.

Mohanlal. 50, shuttles between Kerala and Dubai on a regular basis and considers Dubai his second home. He is currently shooting for the film Casanova in Dubai. 

Lalettan, as he is fondly called by his fans, has acted in over 300 films and has enjoyed a three-decade reign in the entertainment industry.
